Privacy policy

Collecting

The website and the Tango platform (collectively, "our applications") do not collect, store, or share information about you, with three exceptions: (1) we record and use the Internet Protocol address of your computer to recognize and defend against denial-of-service and other technical attacks, and to understand overall usage patterns; (2) we require user accounts tied to an email address for authentication and authorization purposes; (3) we use tools to keep track of customer usage in aggregate and specific queries to understand how to improve our service.

Retention

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and after that only for as long as we have a business or legal reason to keep it.

How long that is depends on the information and on what it is used for. The criteria we apply are whether your account remains open, how long the information stays useful for the purpose we collected it for, and whether we still need it to operate and secure our applications, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or meet a legal obligation.

Applying those criteria:

• Account information, meaning your email address and authentication details, is kept while your account is open.
• Usage information, which reflects how much you use our applications and which parts of them you use, is generally kept while your account is open.
• Server and application logs, which include IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and the requests made to our applications, are kept for no more than one year and then deleted. We use them to diagnose errors, investigate performance and security problems, and understand how our applications are being used.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove its association with you. Deletion is not always immediate, and information may persist for a period in backups, archives, and logging systems before it expires or is overwritten.

If you close your account, we delete or de-identify the information associated with it within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it for one of the reasons described above. You can ask us to close your account by emailing us at the address below.

We may keep and use information that has been aggregated or de-identified, and that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, without time limit.

The service providers listed below keep information according to their own schedules, which may differ from ours.

Tracking

Whether you use the Do Not Track HTTP header feature of your web browser or not, our applications do not use cookies or other ways to track you. They don't direct your computer to make requests to other websites or services for tracking purposes, either.

Sharing

Our applications do not share any information about you with advertisers, marketing companies, or anyone else.

Service providers

Our applications use the following service providers involving customer data:

• Netlify and Amazon Web Services for hosting
• Github, Google, and LinkedIn for OAuth
• Stripe for payment processing on paid Tango plans
• pganalyze, Sentry, AWS CloudWatch, and Google Analytics for monitoring, error tracking, website analytics, and operational visibility

You should look at the privacy notices of each of those service providers, as well. Their policies may differ from this one.
